School Mental Health Partners Unite in Arad to Address School Mental Health Issues

The partners of the School Mental Health Erasmus+ project recently held their second transnational meeting in Arad, Romania, on 19 to 20 May 2026. Representatives from Spain (Fundación Santa María la Real), Romania (Predict CSD Consulting), Iceland (NORTH Consulting), Lithuania (Vilniaus Kolegija), and Cyprus (The IDEA Factory) came together to review progress and plan the next phase of the project.

The meeting focused on the findings of the project’s transnational research and mapping activities, which examined current challenges and needs related to mental health in schools across the partner countries. Based on these findings, the consortium agreed on the roles and responsibilities for developing a specialised training programme for educators and a digital platform that will provide practical resources and support for school communities.

Partners also discussed the project’s communication, dissemination, and sustainability strategy to maximise its long-term impact across Europe. With a clear roadmap in place, the consortium will now focus on translating the research findings into practical tools that promote mental wellbeing, inclusion, and early intervention in school settings.

The School Mental Health project aims to foster supportive and inclusive learning environments by promoting prevention, raising awareness, and encouraging community engagement. Through a collaborative digital platform, the initiative will connect schools, educators, families, and students to share knowledge, resources, and good practices that strengthen mental health and social inclusion.

This initiative marks The IDEA Factory’s first participation in an Erasmus+ project, where it serves as the communication and dissemination partner. Drawing on its expertise in strategic communication, The IDEA Factory will lead the project’s visibility and awareness activities, helping to engage educators, young people, and communities across Europe.

Promoting Emotional Well-being and Mental Health among Young People in Europe

The School Mental Health project officially kicked off with a successful launch meeting held in Madrid, Spain, on 28–29 October 2025. The event brought together partners from across Europe — including Spain, Cyprus, Lithuania, Iceland, and Romania — to collaborate on promoting emotional well-being and mental health among young people in education.

The project seeks to foster supportive and inclusive school environments by focusing on prevention, awareness-raising, and community engagement. Through a collaborative digital platform, the initiative will connect schools, educators, families, and students to share tools, knowledge, and good practices that prioritise mental health and social inclusion.

This initiative marks IDEA Factory’s first participation in an international project, joining the consortium as a communication and dissemination partner. Drawing on its expertise in creative communication, IDEA Factory will lead the project’s visibility actions and awareness campaign, ensuring that its messages reach young people, educators, and communities across Europe.

The School Mental Health project will deliver several key results:

  • R1. School Mental Health Research: A social study identifying the main mental health needs of young people in education.
  • R2. Training Course: An educational resource for teachers and professionals to strengthen their skills in psychosocial support and inclusion.
  • R3. School Mental Health Platform: A virtual space offering training, workshops, and resources to empower young people to understand and manage their mental health.
  • R4. Awareness Campaign: A Europe-wide initiative to raise awareness of mental health challenges—particularly those linked to loneliness, social exclusion, and lack of opportunities—and to promote inclusion and diversity.

The Madrid meeting marked an inspiring start to the project, establishing a strong foundation for collaboration and meaningful action. Together, the partners aim to create healthier, more inclusive educational environments that support the emotional well-being of young people across Europe.
